If you need emergency accommodation and are aged between 16 and 24 years you can contact the Youth Hostel in Nowra on 02 4422 7625.
We provide safe accommodation with a worker on site 24 hours a day, 7 days week.
You can stay for an 3 months, this is a crisis accommodation service.
You can apply to live at the CareSouth Youth Hostel if you are:
- Aged between 16 and 24 years
- Homeless or at risk of becoming homeless
- Attending school, TAFE, working or looking for work
- Young people with drug and alcohol or mental health issues are not excluded from entry, however they must seek appropriate counselling services while staying in CareSouth accommodation.
- Priority is given to those from the Shoalhaven or with links to the local area.
We provide self-contained units, with a shower, bedroom and lounge room.
The weekly board payment of $70 can be deducted from benefits through Centrelink.
CareSouth can also supply a reference on leaving our service with up-to-date board payments.
We can help to improve your living skills; cooking meals, budgeting money, social skills.
We have information on youth agencies in the local area.
Staff can accompany you to appointments and advocate if you need support.
We support a positive relationship with your family.
We can help you set goals and a case plan to keep on track with your goals.
