My Contact as a Foster Carer

Role of the Contact Worker

The contact workers’ role is to supervise the contact visit within the expectations of the referral, including any special conditions requested by the caseworker, and report their observations to the referring agency.

Contact workers demonstrate a commitment to child protection, with their primary concern at all times the safety and well being of the child or young person. The contact workers will intervene if they consider the child is at risk of harm, or (upon advice) if they consider that contact is no longer in the best interests of the child.Contact workers cannot change arrangements for contact visits.
