CareSouth celebrates Families Week and Volunteer Week

This week, CareSouth is celebrating National Families Week and National Volunteer Week in recognition of the unconditional support our foster carers and Aunties & Uncles volunteer carers provide to children and young people across our footprint.

The theme for Families Week this year is ‘Living Real, Dreaming Big’, while National Volunteers Week reminds us that ‘We are the Change Makers’. A Change Maker is someone who takes action to make the world a better place.

At CareSouth, we couldn’t do the essential work that we do without the support of the families and volunteers in our programs. Both these groups are important threads in the social fabric holding communities together, and they support us in building better futures for people across regional NSW.

CareSouth offers two carer programs – Foster Care and Aunties & Uncles – because we know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to caring. We support children, young people, participants and families in both big and little ways; our volunteer Aunties & Uncles are positive role models for vulnerable children, and our foster carers provide emergency care, respite care, family preservation and restoration, long-term foster care, kinship care, guardianship or adoption.

The commitment to each of these programs and the type of care required are different, but at the heart of every care journey is love, respect, and connection to community and culture.

CareSouth staff have been trained to help those interested in caring to make the right choice for themselves and their families. If you are willing and able to open your home, heart and mind to create stronger families, stronger communities and better futures together, please contact our friendly Call Centre team on 1300 554 260 or explore our website further to begin your care journey.
